The Canadian Prairies Group of Chartered Engineers (CPGCE) is an association
of Chartered Engineers:
who are based in the Canadian Provinces of Alberta and
Saskatchwan and theNorth West Territories.
are corporate menbers of the UK sponsoring Institutions.
i.e. Institution of Civil Engineers
Institution of Electrical Engineers
Institution of Mechanical Engineers
Institution of Chemical Engineers
Institution of Structural Engineers
CPGCE is funded by the above UK Institutions and functions in a similar
manner to a Branch of an Institution in that regular technical meetings
are held and social events are organised so that members have a chance to
meet and to discuss matters of general interest. Spouses and guests are
always welcome at meetings.
The fact that CPGCE is a multi-discipline body aids the understanding,
by our membership, of other aspects of engineering and technical meetings
attempt to cover all of those disciplines.
An Executive Committee is elected each year at the Annual General Meeting
and duties are assigned to each committee member to ensure that all aspects
of CPGCE activity are maintained at a high level.
As well as this web site, which is updated as is needed to keep it current,
a Newsletter is published and mailed to each member three times a year Spring,
Summer and Winter.
Although CPGCE covers two Provinces and one Territory, activity is
at present confined to the Calgary, Alberta , area where the majority of
members are based
Despite strong efforts to get activities organised in other areas where
a reasonable number of members are resident, notably Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
and Edmonton, no success has so far been achieved.
Any member in these areas who is interested in forming a local sub-committee,
to organise events in their own area, is encouraged to contact the Chairman
or any member of the Executive.
